When we lived in the area I had always thought about going to Chimney Bluffs but then time goes on, people get busy , we moved and we never got there. The other day my daughter told me we were going on a surprise adventure and to bring my camera the only clue lots of water. We got into the car ready for a photographic venture and ended up at Chimney Bluffs., the water was truly awesome, such a pretty color blue. We took a deep breath and some pics and were off into the woods, walking along the trail not knowing what was ahead. We knew the end result was to be at the top of the bluffs.
We walked down a long path being only able to see the blue of the water in the distance.
We checked out the map and were ready to start on our venture .
We walked along the path in the woods which was beautiful the way the sun shone through the trees. As we got toward the top of the bluff the paths became a bit more tricky, they were not only thinner but closer to the edge. Of course taking pictures the whole way up to the top, as the path winds closer to the edge it became almost a dizzying feeling , we were way up in the air and the water was getting further down. I decided to call it a day because the path just became a little to adventurous for me, while others went higher and higher. I did find that we could actually take pictures of the bluffs better from the bottom of them and at a distance they were truly breath taking , so glad my daughter took me on a fun surprise venture.
This is a great way to spend a nice afternoon, we are going to go back in the fall when the leaves will be changing and the whole look of the park will be filled with more gorgeous colors.
Chimney Bluffs features the most dramatic landscape on the Lake Ontario shore. Experience the massive earthen spires while enjoying the park's lakeshore nature trails.
