The Elves are cute as ever and everywhere!

This Christmas Elf is sure to make your family smile! Teddy Bear shaped cake is transformed using shaped cookies to build the hat, mittens and shoes.

Instructions:

In advance: Make cookies. Prepare and roll out dough. Use patterns to cut 3 hats and 4 shoes (reverse 2 shoes). Using mitten cutter from set, cut 6 mittens, reverse 3 for opposite hand. Using knife, cut 13/8 in. round pompom. Bake and cool all cookies.

Position bear cake on foil-wrapped board, cut to fit design with hat, mittens and shoes. Trim off ears, square off arms, legs, and trim muzzle and eyes. Lightly ice cake smooth in buttercream. Using toothpick, mark suspenders, belt, pant leg, stockings and facial features.

Using tip 16 stars, fill in shirt, pants and stockings. Pipe in tip 3 eyes, mouth and tongue; (pat smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch). Using tip 12, outline belt and fill in. Pipe tip 5 buckle; pat smooth. Build up ear area with tip 3. Cover face and ears and build up nose with tip 16 stars; overpipe cheeks.

Sandwich hat, shoe, and mitten cookies with icing. Position next to cake. Cover cookies with tip 16 stars. Pipe tip 366 pull-out leaf fringe. Add tip 21 pull-out star hair curl. Cover round pompom cookie with tip 21 swirls and position on hat.
Combine Lemon Yellow with Golden Yellow for yellow shade shown. Combine Brown with Christmas Red for brown shade shown.
