Roasting or toasting marshmallows never seems to stop being a favorite, kids who go camping with their parents still enjoy doing it . But things have changed a lot since I was a kid with marshmallows.. Back then Dad had a fire going and the three of us kids would be all excited "Hurry, go get your stick." Frantically you search through the yard for the perfect one, not to short, not to green you had to find the perfect one. And when you did excitedly you would run toward the area where the fun was about to begin. The fire where Dad had it roaring the heat made your face glow and Mom had the bag of marshmallows and then the fun began.
Everyone's idea of just right is completely different some like them gently browned, while others like to have their marshmallows flaming and have to blow out the fire. Mine had to be just browned but everywhere, had to be even then to take a bite, nah the whole thing fits in your mouth. The oooo eeee goooooeeeee sweet taste of a marshmallow that had a hidden flavor level only known when roasted. After the time of sweet fun was over and time to go in for the night you would think about the fun you had , the whole family and how you could barely wait till the next time you saw Mom with the bag and Dad with a nice fire.
Now that you have your memories of how much fun it was and how good they tasted, go to the store and start a fire so the fun can begin.
